石油和矿产资源部长卡里姆·巴达维会见了雪佛龙埃及国家经理克里斯蒂安·斯文森及其随行代表团，讨论了该公司在埃及的活动及其未来一段时间的计划。

会见期间，巴达维表示，石油行业目前正在加强各石油工作区的石油和天然气勘探和研究活动，目的是实现新的发现，增加现有储量并提高产量，从而减少进口费用并有助于应对油井的自然衰退。

巴达维强调，政治领导层、政府和议会全力支持外国石油行业合作伙伴开展工作，克服挑战并加快程序，从而实现各方的目标。

部长补充说，鉴于拥有足够的地质数据以及实施大型项目所需的能力和专业知识，埃及在石油和天然气领域拥有良好的投资机会。

巴达维指出，加快开发已发现的油田并尽快将其纳入生产计划非常重要。

斯文森表示，雪佛龙高度重视与埃及的战略伙伴关系，并致力于其活动，因为它认为埃及石油行业是一个充满吸引力的投资机会的有前途的行业。

斯文森指出，该公司目前正在评估最近启动的新一轮招标中提供的几个领域，以确定最适合该公司工作系统的机会。

此外，斯文森表示，该公司目前还在为其在埃及的活动制定一个有具体目标的综合工作计划，并期待参加即将举行的 EGYPES 2025 活动。

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawi, met with Kristian Svendsen, Chevron Egypt Country Manager, and the accompanying delegation to discuss the company’s activities in Egypt and its plans for the coming period.

During the meeting, Badawi stated that the petroleum sector is currently intensifying oil and gas exploration and research activities in various petroleum work areas with the aim of achieving new discoveries that add to the existing reserves and increase production, which reduces the import bill and contributes to confronting the natural decline of wells.

Badawi highlighted the full support of the political leadership, government and parliament for foreign petroleum sector partners to carry out their work, overcome challenges and expedite procedures, thus achieving the goals of all parties.

The Minister added that Egypt has promising investment opportunities in the field of oil and gas, in light of the availability of sufficient geological data and the capabilities and expertise required to implement mega projects.

Badawi pointed out the importance of accelerating the development of the achieved discoveries and putting them on the production map as soon as possible.

For his part, Svendsen stated that Chevron attaches great importance to the strategic partnership with Egypt and is committed to its activities, as it considers the Egyptian petroleum sector a promising sector full of attractive investment opportunities.

Svendsen noted that the company is currently evaluating several areas offered in the new bid round that was recently launched to determine the best opportunities that suit the company’s work system.

Additionally, Svendsen said that the company is also currently developing an integrated work program for its activities in Egypt with specific targets and is looking forward to participating in the upcoming edition of EGYPES 2025.
