The Norwegian Ocean Industry Authority (Havtil) has carried out an audit of PGNiG Upstream Norway (PUN), and its drilling contractors’ planning of the drilling of exploration well 6305/10-1.
The audit was conducted from 3 to 12 April 2024.
Objective
The objective of the audit was to ensure that PUN is complying with the regulatory requirements, and its own internal requirements, with regard to the planning of HPHT (high pressure, high temperature) exploration drilling operations. We wanted to document that PUN is following up on risks in the planning phase, to ensure they are adequately identified, documented and communicated to the implementing offshore organisation.
Result
We did not identify any non-conformities during this audit, but observed two improvement points. These concerned:
specification of own internal requirements in the company’s management system.
documentation of operational decision criteria.
What happens next?
We have asked PUN to give us its assessment of the improvement points observed by 24 June 2024.
