After the annual general meetings, the Chairman and members of the Board of Directors gathered at the NOC’s headquarters in Tripoli on Tuesday, December 30, 2025. They discussed the 2026 operations and projects for Nafusah Oil Operations, Zawiya Oil refining Company, North African Geophysical Exploration Company (NAGECO), and the Zawiya Petroleum Institute. The meeting was attended by management committees, general managers, and specialists.
Engineer Masoud Suleman, Chairman of the Board of Directors, praised the hard work of the sector’s employees, which has led to a remarkable daily production rate of 1.375 million barrels of oil and 2.5 billion cubic feet of gas. He stressed the importance of prioritizing safety, training, environmental protection, and the finalization of measurement systems to improve governance and operational accuracy.
The meetings also examined the outcomes of the 2025 projects. Nafusah Oil Operations achieved a peak daily production of 12,000 barrels of oil and 12.5 million cubic feet of gas, and successfully completed its Early Production Facility (EPF) project, which helped to boost its production rate.
Zawiya Oil Refining Company accomplished 77% of its targeted refined crude oil production between January and November 2025. Meanwhile, the Zawiya Petroleum Institute focused on capacity building, graduating 267 students and training 468 members of the national workforce.
NAGECO has signed a contract with Waha Oil Company to conduct a 3D seismic survey project in concessions M.N. 12-13. The company has also improved its occupational safety and health standards, successfully passing the prequalification for Block 31.
At the end of the meetings, Engineer Masoud Suleman presented several recommendations. These included accelerating the implementation of projects aimed at increasing production, empowering young people and enhancing their skills, and ensuring that the Zawiya Petroleum Institute maintains its outputs at the highest standards. He emphasized the NOC’s unwavering support for its companies and the Institute in achieving their goals.
