The oil and gas industry is seeing a resurgence in exploration success fueled by advanced seismic technology.
In a span of about 20 days:
BP said it made a significant discovery at its Bumerangue prospect in Brazil’s Santos Basin, calling it the company’s largest find in 25 years; Talos Energy and partners Shell and Red Willow Offshore hit oil pay in subsalt Miocene sands of the Gulf of America; Aker BP announced its five-target exploration campaign in the Norwegian North Sea led to the discovery of new resources in the Yggdrasil hub area; and Equinor and partners struck oil and gas in the North Sea’s Fram area.
