石油和矿产资源部表示，卡尔达石油公司正在使用最新的陆地钻井技术进行生产井 Never-West 16 的钻探工作，目标是日产原油 2,300 桶。

The Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources said Khalda Petroleum Company is using the latest land drilling techniques to carry out the drilling work of the production well, Never-West 16, as production rates are targeted to reach 2,300 barrels of crude oil per day.

In a statement, the ministry said that Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Engineer Karim Badawi inspected oil and gas production sites in Western Sahara, as part of field tours to follow up on the progress of work and get acquainted with efforts exerted to increase work efficiency.

At the onset of his field tour of Khalda Petroleum Company’s production fields, the minister of petroleum and his companions visited the EDC 76 onshore oil rig of the Egyptian Drilling Company, as the Company is currently carrying out its work in drilling a new development oil well to produce crude oil in one of Khalda Petroleum Company’s operating areas in the Western Desert, as part of its program to increase production.

Badawi praised workers' efforts in all production sites, as they are the backbone of production growth in the petroleum sector.

He stressed the importance of abiding by safety rules and incorporating up-to-date operation systems to protect workers.

During his visit Friday to Salam field area affiliated to Khaleda Company, the minister will follow up on work pace and production plans for oil and gas production companies in Western Sahara, including Khalda, Badr al-Din, Agiba and the General Petroleum Company.
