As part of the Ministry of Oil's efforts and keenness to sustain production in the oil fields, the technical and engineering staff of the Iraqi Drilling Company completed the reclamation of two oil wells in the Zubair and West Qurna/1 oil fields.
The Deputy Director General of the company, Mr. Kazem Habash Khalif, said that the reclamation of the oil well in the Zubair field comes within the contract concluded with the Italian company ENI and the "Great Well" oil services company, adding that the reclamation process in the West Qurna 1 field was carried out in cooperation with PetroChina Oil Services Company.
He explained that the reclamation operations of the oil wells aim to activate the productive layers and increase the reservoir pressures, which contributes to enhancing the level of production according to the operational plan for the field, and this is positively reflected in achieving sustainability in the oil production of the fields.
