雪佛龙的全资子公司雪佛龙纳米比亚勘探有限公司正在积极扩大其在纳米比亚的潜在项目组合，纳米比亚已成为全球石油和天然气勘探的热点。
计划中的勘探井将根据石油勘探许可证号 82进行钻探，位于沃尔维斯盆地，这是一片广阔的近海区域，位于奥兰治盆地的北部，迄今为止，纳米比亚所有近海碳氢化合物的发现均由道达尔能源公司、壳牌公司和高浦石油公司等大型国际石油和天然气公司在此发现。

Chevron Corporation is considering the possibility of drilling an exploration well in the Walvis Basin, located off the coast of the Republic of Namibia, in the year 2026 or 2027, according to a report by Reuters, citing the American oil company.
Chevron’s wholly owned subsidiary, Chevron Namibia Exploration Limited, is actively expanding its portfolio of prospective projects in Namibia, a country that has emerged as a global hotspot for oil and gas exploration.
The planned exploration well will be drilled under Petroleum Exploration License No. 82, located in the Walvis Basin— a vast offshore area situated to the north of the Orange Basin, where all of Namibia’s offshore hydrocarbon discoveries to date have been made by major international oil and gas corporations, including TotalEnergies, Shell, and Galp.
Through this new exploration program, Chevron is continuing to expand its robust and growing portfolio of upstream geological exploration projects.
It is worth noting that in January 2025, Chevron announced that its first exploration well in the Orange Basin had not encountered commercial quantities of hydrocarbons.
