Industrial Equipment Sales & Services and ELGi North America have developed a technology that upgrades compressed air systems to be able to capture and reinject excess gas in lieu of flaring.
An application to capture and reinject natural gas into oil reservoirs so companies can comply with flaring bans has been developed by Industrial Equipment Sales & Services (IESS) and ELGi Equipments Ltd. subsidiary ELGi North America, the companies said in a Nov. 11 press release.
In early 2024, the U.S. government banned flame-off applications. The technology, called Air Source One, upgrades compressed air systems to be able to capture and use excess gas in lieu of flaring. It can be placed near oil well sites.
ELGi’s EN series rotary compressors include an integrated heater and ventilation system that can be mounted directly onto the compressor tank and range in power from 4 hp to 20 hp for a capacity of up to 150 psi.
