The TagraS-RS division of the TAGRAS Holding has introduced a technology that can significantly reduce the duration of derrick installation work – this is a drilling rig movement system, or slider.
During cluster drilling, the slider allows you to speed up the repositioning of a mobile drilling rig on skis without additional time spent on throwing out the tool, dismantling and installing the mobile drilling rig. System dimensions: 22 by 30 meters. It consists of a platform on which the drilling equipment is placed and supports on which the platform moves.
Traditionally, the relocation of a drilling crew at a well pad takes 5 days. The introduction of a slider allows you to reduce work time by more than 8 times and increase the level of employee safety by eliminating a significant number of operations: 9 instead of 90. Thanks to this, one drilling team can drill an additional 2 wells per year for the customer.
The slider accommodates drilling equipment weighing up to 750 tons. Such a massive structure moves with the press of just one button. The slider platform moves along the skis using hydraulic cylinders. The speed of the slider is 5 meters per hour. The transformation of the rigging phase is intended to achieve higher goals for the number of drilled meters of the drilling enterprise.
The division’s specialists installed the drilling rig moving system for the first time at the fields of Bashneft-Dobycha LLC. The goals that the drilling team sets for itself in using the slider fully satisfy the customer’s requirements, increase the level of safety of the work and will increase the commercial drilling speed, and therefore the number of wells drilled.
