ValTek donates to Permian Basin Petroleum Museum

Oilfield Technology,

ValTek has donated US$50 000 to the Permian Basin Petroleum Museum, the nation’s largest museum dedicated to the petroleum industry.

ValTek was awarded US$50 000 at the Daniel Energy Partners BBQ Cook-Off in September after being named Grand Champion of the event. The prize money was to be contributed to a charity of the winner’s choice.

The Petroleum Museum, located in Midland, Texas, plans to use the contribution towards the new Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM) Education Center. The new 8000 ft2 building will offer interactive indoor and outdoor learning facilities, which will double the number of student programs offered annually.

Tyler Smith, General Manager, ValTek, said, “The Petroleum Museum has been an integral part of the Permian Basin, and ValTek is proud to support the museum’s goals that focus on further developing the oil and gas industry through educational programs and interactive exhibits. We are thrilled to contribute to a local nonprofit organisation in the community ValTek has called home for more than 40 years. Daniel Energy Partners’ annual event was a huge success, and we appreciate their generosity in making this donation possible.”

Kathy Shannon, Executive Director, Permian Basin Petroleum Museum, said, “Through the generosity of donors such as ValTek, we are able to make the new STEAM Education Center a reality. We look forward to continuing to offer inspiring programs for visitors to gain a deeper understanding of the petroleum industry.”
