On April 1, registration began for the Geonavigation League, an open championship for virtual drilling of horizontal wells in difficult geological conditions. The competition will take place as part of the IT Marathon, which for the sixth year in a row is organized by the largest research and design institute of Rosneft in Ufa.
Holding specialized competitions contributes to the popularization of science in the oil and gas sector, involving industry professionals and talented youth in solving non-standard production problems. For students, this is a chance to express themselves throughout the country and become part of the Rosneft team.
This year, the Geonavigation League will be held for oil and gas industry professionals and university students. Participants will have to analyze the current geological situation in real time based on incoming data, assess risks and build a well trajectory in the RN-Horizon+ corporate simulator.
Specialists will compete in three online rounds in September-October, students – in two online rounds in November. The League’s tasks will focus on key oil and gas regions of Russia.
The best participants based on the results of all rounds will meet in December in Moscow, where the main prize will be drawn.
