Orion

Orion Energy

Orion Diversified Holding Co. Inc.

Orion Acquires Royalty, Non-Op Interests in Texas, Mississippi

Orion Energy is boosting its royalty and non-op presence in Texas while unlocking new Mississippi opportunities.

Orion Diversified Holding Co. Inc. closed transactions for royalties and non-operated working interest in Texas and Mississippi.

The Mississippi deal represented Orion’s entry into the state, said CEO Tom Lull. The deal included a 0.60% non-operated working interest across 39 wells, which together produce 2,350 bbl/d (gross)—or 14.10 bbl/d net to Orion.

“This property was drilled in 1977 and hit peak production of 10,000 bbl/d in 2011,” Lull said in a Sept. 4 statement. “The Mississippi property has produced 60,156,572 bbl and 5.9 Bcf of gas since 1977.”

The Texas deal included 640 acres and 1.5 net mineral acres in Matagorda County.

“There are active leases surrounding this 640-acre royalty acquisition,” Lull said.

Orion said it sees opportunities to expand its position in Colorado’s Piceance Basin. The U.S. government will lease 7,895 acres in Rio Blanco County, Colorado, on Sept. 9, 2025. Orion has 5,372 gross acres and 668 net mineral acres adjacent to these federal lands, Lull said.

Orion holds 53,960 mineral acres in the Bakken, Permian, Piceance, Arkoma, Eagle Ford, Haynesville and Anadarko basins.
