The rapid increase in drilling speed in the Tarim Oilfield is inseparable from the promotion and application of scientific and technological innovation on site, which has enabled the drilling speed to start running mode with the support of a series of "heavy oil equipment".
As the frontier of ultra-deep oil and gas exploration and development in my country, Tarim Oilfield has always regarded innovation as the primary driving force for the company's development. With the goal of building an original technology source, it has planned research directions from two levels: "rapid breakthroughs" to support the current situation and "long-term efforts" to lead the future. Based on the core technology of the group company, Tarim Oilfield strives to create a high-value patent cultivation and planning layout work model, and has compiled and released the "Tarim Oilfield Company Key Core Technology Tree Compilation V1.0". In the field of deep and ultra-deep oil and gas exploration and development, there is a lack of leading patents in core key technologies, advantageous and characteristic technologies, and basic common technologies, and a systematic patent group has not yet been formed. The oilfield targets technical fields such as deep and ultra-deep oil and gas reservoir geomechanics, well integrity, drilling and completion engineering, geophysical exploration, and improved recovery, and uses intellectual property analysis methods to establish a high-value patent mining, cultivation and layout work model, which has enhanced the competitiveness of China Petroleum's deep core technology. According to statistics, since 2023, the oilfield has won 4 provincial and ministerial patent gold awards, 1 silver award, and 6 excellence awards, and was rated as an advanced unit for intellectual property work in 2022-2023 by the group company.
"We have built a diversified and three-dimensional intellectual property classification and grading protection system based on the four states of authorized, under review, pending application, and in planning." Meng Xiangjuan, director of the Tarim Oilfield Science and Technology Management Department (Intellectual Property Office), deputy director of the R&D Center and office director, said that the vertical and horizontal classification layout has maximized the protection of core technology research results, helping a series of new technologies, new equipment and new tools such as deep vertical drilling and high-density oil-based mud to break the foreign monopoly.
How to seize the right to speak on ultra-deep oil and gas exploration and development technology? Tarim Oilfield will take the change of concepts as the guiding principle for accelerating the cultivation of new quality productivity, use innovative thinking and methods to solve new situations and new problems, and deepen the vertical and horizontal connection of scientific and technological innovation. Vertically, a classification protection pattern of intellectual property rights is formed for different technical levels according to patents, software copyrights and technical secrets; horizontally, a hierarchical protection layout of core, important and general intellectual property rights is formed for the same technical level. At present, the oilfield has completed the mining and cultivation of high-value patents in four major professional and technical fields, including ultra-deep oil and gas reservoir geomechanics, well integrity, geophysical exploration, and enhanced recovery, formed a patent application plan, and built a patent protection group.
Now that we have innovative achievements, the key is to "use" them. Tarim Oilfield is targeting the deep earth field, and through the intellectual property analysis and patent navigation of major scientific and technological projects in the field of ultra-deep oil and gas exploration and development and engineering technology, it explores, lays out and cultivates high-value patents. Among the completed patent applications, invention patent applications account for more than 90%, which reserves sufficient momentum for accelerating the transformation of scientific and technological achievements. Since the beginning of this year, the oilfield has increased its efforts in scientific research and achievement transformation, integrated applications in the pre-drilling, drilling and completion stages, and increased the overall drilling speed by 13.2%, laying a solid foundation for achieving the annual oil and gas production target.
From the underground "Mount Everest" to the 10,000-meter deep ground, deep ground science and technology escort high-quality development. The Deep Ground Taco 1 well was successfully drilled to 10,910 meters. This is not only a set of numbers full of difficulties, but more importantly, it represents the highest level of drilling technology in the world today, and behind it is a series of world-class technical problems. Tarim Oilfield has taken advantage of the integration of "production, learning, research and application", and has joined forces with enterprises, scientific research institutions and universities inside and outside the group to carry out collective research and development. Ten major technical tools have been developed, including high-strength drill pipes and safety control technology, ultra-high temperature water-based drilling fluid system, key technologies and equipment for ultra-deep well cementing, and ultra-high temperature and ultra-high pressure logging instruments, forming an independent and controllable 10,000-meter key core technology system, which has promoted the iterative upgrade of key equipment, tools and materials for my country's deep ground drilling.
Breaking down the barriers between scientific and technological projects and intellectual property is a concrete practice of deepening intellectual property analysis in the Tarim Oilfield. In recent years, the Tarim Oilfield has used intellectual property analysis methods to continuously explore and practice the deep integration of scientific and technological innovation and intellectual property, relying on patent navigation, major special intellectual property analysis and full-cycle summary of scientific research projects to create a brand of exploration and development technology in the ultra-deep oil and gas field with outstanding characteristics and advanced technology. So far, the oilfield has improved the scientific nature of intellectual property mining, planning and layout with the help of intellectual property analysis, and has formed an intellectual property system with 220 invention patents (core patents account for 30%), 13 software copyrights and 11 standard directions, realizing the precise transformation of innovative achievements into intellectual property.
