In implementation of the directives of Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil, Eng. Hayan Abdul-Ghani Al-Sawad, the Iraqi Drilling Company has begun deploying the IDC-56 drilling rig as part of the drilling operations for the 35-well project in the Zubair field. This comes within the framework of the contract concluded with the Italian company ENI, and in cooperation with Schlumberger Oilfield Services.
The General Manager of the Iraqi Drilling Company, Eng. Hassan Mohammed Hassan, explained that the IDC-56 is the second drilling rig the company has deployed for this project, following the IDC-51, which the company had previously begun operating.
He emphasized that the company is steadily implementing its strategic projects according to the highest standards, in support of the Ministry of Oil's plans to boost production and develop the infrastructure of national fields.
