Exploratory tests from a drilled well reveal an impressive gas flow rate exceeding 200,000 m3 per day—a landmark achievement not seen in western Ukraine's UGV indicators over the past two decades.

Leveraging modern technologies, including the "Ivan Bohun" drilling rig, the discovery prompts further exploration of the once-depleted deposit, showcasing the efficacy of contemporary methods.

“This result demonstrates the effectiveness of modern technologies and new approaches to data interpretation. The western region of Ukraine has great potential for new hydrocarbon deposits, which is confirmed by the experience of neighboring countries. We are now intensifying our activities in this region, in particular with regard to the introduction of new technologies and the attraction of investments,” Oleg Tolmachev, acting general director of Ukrgasvydobuvannya, said.

The operationalization of the well, based on innovative data interpretation from seismic 3D surveys, underscores the swift progress with pipeline construction and gas plant modernization.

Lvivgasvydobuvannya specialists are currently working on expanding the technological capabilities of local infrastructure to increase well productivity.

“Based on the results of geophysical studies, our specialists identified a number of productive horizons that expand the prospects for drilling new wells. The results of the test well will now make it possible to estimate the reserves of the new deposit. We are grateful to the specialists from the geological exploration department of the Carpathian region, the Ukrainian Research Institute of Natural Gases (UkrNDIGas) and Lvivgasvydobuvannya, who developed and implemented this project,” Maksym Vityk, director of exploration and development at Ukrgasvydobuvannya, said.
