OSLO, Norway — PGS, in partnership with SNPC, completed a fourth phase of reprocessing of the Congo Vision project earlier this month, adding more than 3,900 sq km of rejuvenated offshore 3D seismic to form a regional dataset.
The data cover deepwater acreage in open blocks Marine XIX and Marine XXX. The latest phase expands Congo Vision to the south, on trend with Angolan fields at the heart of the Congo Fan depocenter.
Final pre-stack and post-stack deliverables are now available for licensing.
Congo Vision now comprises a contiguous volume of nearly 13,000 sq km of broadband processed KPSDM data across offshore Congo’s shelf and deepwater, with legacy datasets fully reprocessed leading to an uplift in data quality, PGS said.
Application of modern imaging techniques has revealed prospectivity in both the presalt and post-salt stratigraphy.
Acreage included in the fourth phase of Congo Vision has previously delivered discoveries in the Upper to Lower Miocene, while the rejuvenated data image inboard Albian and presalt fields.
PGS also announced it has secured a new 3D acquisition contract in the Mediterranean Sea. The Ramform Titan should mobilize next month to start the 160-day survey.
