Liberty, Imperial, Range Partner to Support Pennsylvania Power Plant

Liberty Energy Inc., Imperial Land Corp. and Range Resources are focusing on a plant to meet energy demands from data centers and industrial facilities.

Liberty Energy, Imperial Land Corp. and a Range Resources Appalachia have formed an alliance to support the development of a power plant in Washington County, Pennsylvania, near Pittsburgh.

The collaboration will focus on a dedicated plant tailored to meet the energy demands of data centers, industrial facilities and other high-energy-use businesses in Pennsylvania, according to an April 8 news release. The plant is located in the Fort Cherry Development District in Robinson Township.

It would use modular power generation systems fired by natural gas from the nearby Marcellus Shale.

Liberty owns and operates Liberty Power Innovations LLC, providing distributed power and energy storage solutions for the commercial and industrial, data center, energy and mining industries.

“Liberty is revolutionizing how industries meet their energy needs with our ability to rapidly deploy reliable, scalable distributed power solutions,” said Liberty CEO Ron Gusek.

Imperial owns more than 5,000 acres in southwestern Pennsylvania, where its developments are home to companies including Amazon and General Electric.

Range Resources Appalachia is a natural gas producer in the Marcellus Shale and controls approximately 2.5 million net acres in the Appalachian Basin.
