Trygve Randen

该活动的赞助商包括ADNOC(主办组织)、SLB(金牌赞助商)、埃克森美孚(副赞助商)和INPEX JODCO(挂绳赞助商)。

The SPE Reservoir Characterization and Simulation Conference and Exhibition is taking place 24–26 January in Abu Dhabi. The opening day saw 350-plus delegates from 30 countries. The event is supported by ADNOC as the Host Organization.

The 3-day conference brings together geoscientists, reservoir, and petroleum engineers, along with data scientists to address emerging digital technologies to augment reservoir potential to ensure profitability and sustainability. The agenda presents an impressive line-up of global executives and experts to showcase their experiences, research, and success stories.

The opening ceremony commenced with speeches by Maged Mabrook, Conference Chair, Manager, Reservoir and Petroleum Engineering, Thamama Subsurface Excellence Division, ADNOC; Mohamed Al Marzouqi, Senior Vice President Development, ADNOC; Medhat Kamal, 2023 SPE President, Fellow Emeritus, Chevron; and Trygve Randen, Director, Data and Subsurface, SLB.

Highlighting the relevance of the conference theme, Maged Mabrook said, “This year’s theme, ‘Emerging Digital Technologies to Augment Reservoir Potential, Profitability, and Sustainability’ has been tailored to address our industry’s focus and opportunities to meet the global energy demand with the most responsible and sustainable approach.”

As part of his keynote address where he emphasized the importance of sustainability, Mohamed Al Marzouqi said, “I have high expectations from this group and I want you all to think outside the box, connect your minds, and I want you to solve a very simple formula. This formula is … how can I produce maximum energy with minimum emissions? That is what should be in everybody’s mind today, whether at this conference or outside. How can I produce [the] highest [amount of] energy because we need energy. Nobody tells you that we don’t need energy at the maximum level, but we need to be responsible towards our environment and produce it with minimum emissions.”

Medhat Kamal, 2023 SPE President, Fellow Emeritus, Chevron, said, “We, as members of SPE, actually have a lot to be proud of. We have actually been doing a lot of advancements in the area of reservoir characterization and simulation over the last few years. One example of a recent impactful development is the integration of simulation and optimization in a single platform with automation to maximize our profits and to maximize the production of hydrocarbons.”

Commenting on the developments in the current decade, Trygve Randen, said, “We started the decade learning how to work from home. We continued through learning how to work together in the same room again. We got a lot of attention towards the topic of energy transition. And as of last year, the topic of energy security was not a topic for just a few countries but was a topic for the entire world. To address all of these challenges, we really need to look at a balanced approach to how we address the world.”

The conference agenda features 1 executive plenary session, 3 panel sessions, 18 technical sessions, and more than 35 knowledge-sharing ePoster sessions with over 95 speakers from 20 countries.

The exhibition showcases six companies featuring their latest products and services that are contributing to the growth, efficiency, and sustainability of major global energy projects.

The event’s sponsors include ADNOC (Host Organization), SLB (Gold Sponsor), ExxonMobil (Associate Sponsor), and INPEX JODCO (Lanyard Sponsor).
