China Petroleum Network News (Correspondent Yin Jie and Wei Xianggao), the author learned that the Liuye 1H well, a risk exploration well of the group company and the first shale oil horizontal well in the Jiuquan Basin, which was drilled by the XD70702 drilling team of the Yumen Drilling Company of Western Drilling, was successfully completed and handed over recently, setting many records in the Qingxi block of the Jiuquan Basin, including the deepest well depth, longest horizontal section, most coring footage, highest coring recovery rate, highest drilling fluid density, and lowest fault complexity rate.
The Liuye 1H well is designed to have a pilot hole depth of 6,100 meters and a horizontal well depth of 5,810 meters. The pilot hole depth is 6,109 meters and the horizontal well depth is 5,850 meters. The horizontal section is 1,297 meters long. It is the deepest and longest horizontal well in the Yumen Oilfield, and the first shale oil exploration practice in the Jiuquan Basin. Once the well is broken through, it will open up a new area for large-scale production in the old Yumen area, effectively liberate the resource potential of the basin, and achieve stable production and increase production in the old area, which is of great significance to the construction of a century-old oilfield.
The shale oil in the Jiuquan Basin is different from other areas in China. It is buried deeper and has more complex formations. In response to drilling problems such as well wall collapse and abnormal mechanical drilling speed, Yumen Drilling Company has set up a risk exploration team and a scientific research team to strengthen technical research and on-site technical control to protect the well. During the construction period, the company kept in touch with technical experts at all levels to discuss countermeasures, actively introduced new tools and new processes, and solved the technical problems in the exploration and development of deep shale oil. By optimizing the drill bit design, improving the drill tool combination, adjusting the drilling pressure and other drilling parameters, the mechanical drilling speed was increased, and a new breakthrough in the acceleration of deep shale oil drilling was achieved.
The successful completion and handover of Liuye 1H well laid the foundation for the large-scale development of shale oil in the Jiuquan Basin, and also accumulated valuable experience for the company to undertake high-difficulty wells.
