Karr Ingham has been appointed as the new president of Texas Alliance of Energy Producers, effective July 1, according to an Aug. 12 press release by the oil and gas association.

Ingham was named interim president in 2023, and had served as executive vice president of the organization for five years prior.

Ingham “has worked with the Alliance in various capacities since 2003 and served admirably as our interim president for the past nine months, demonstrating exceptional leadership and dedication,” Jason Herrick, chairman of the Alliance’s board of directors, said in the announcement.

Ingham specializes in regional and energy economics in Texas. He co-chairs the supply and demand committee of the Independent Petroleum Association of America and serves on the board of directors of the Domestic Energy Producers Alliance.

As president, Ingham will continue his role as a petroleum economist for the Alliance and the monthly release of the association’s Texas Petro Index, which measures the growth rates and cycles of the Texas upstream oil and gas industry, and the Texas Permian Basin Petroleum Index.

“It’s an honor to be named president of the Alliance during this period of uncertainty for the oil and gas industry,” Ingham said in the release. “Regardless of who wins the U.S. presidency in November, the Alliance will staunchly defend the interests of our members and the oil and gas industry in Texas against overreach and bad policy at both the state and federal levels.”
