Globe

Getech

Latest Globe Release Delivers Deeper Tectonic and Structural Insight

Source: www.gulfoilandgas.com 2/25/2026, Location: Europe

Getech, a world-leading locator of subsurface resources, has released a new version of Globe, its flagship geoscience analysis platform. Globe 2026.1 adds new data layers, updates existing content and introduces new tools that expand the platform锟絪 analytical capabilities to enable its users to gain greater insight into Earth锟絪 tectonic and structural development.

Globe models 400 million years of Earth锟絪 evolution, providing c. 40,000 layers of geological information to support exploration of petroleum, minerals, natural hydrogen and geothermal energy, as well as assessment of carbon storage potential. By integrating machine learning with geoscience expertise, advanced geological modelling and geophysical data, Globe provides a digital twin of Earth锟絪 geologic development. This enables users to understand how evolution of the planet has influenced the location of natural resources, making discovery faster and easier today.

Globe 2026.1 includes:

Relative Tectonic Activity Maps: new stage-by-stage maps showing when crustal blocks were last active and when they may become active again, supporting basin evolution analysis and preservation risk screening.
Fault Dilation Tool: a new tool that estimates where structural faults may be more open and permeable within an area of interest, supporting fluid-flow assessment for petroleum, geothermal, natural hydrogen and mineral workflows.

Expanded Palaeosurface Geology Maps: completion of Southeast Asia Cenozoic reconstructions (including Pliocene) 锟 mapping ancient rivers, landscapes and sediment pathways in support of reservoir prediction.
Expanded Palaeocrustal Architecture: global Cenozoic coverage, providing reconstructed crustal structure, tectonic setting and crustal thickness to inform heat flow and subsidence context.
Geothermal Gradient Maps: new geothermal gradient maps within Globe锟絪 Thermal Mapping toolkit, calculated from surface to basement and surface to 150锟紺, in support of geothermal and natural hydrogen screening.

Chris Jepps, Getech CEO, commented:

锟紾lobe 2026.1 continues our focus on delivering decision-ready insight for energy and mineral exploration and appraisal. The new capabilities in this latest release provide Globe clients with a better understanding of the structures and tectonic processes that control where resources accumulate and how well they are preserved, while also supporting assessments of subsurface risk, such as induced seismicity.

Such insights are essential to successful exploration and new ventures work, as they help natural resource companies more accurately predict the location of prospective resources and therefore inform where to focus investment. Our continuing enhancements to Globe help ensure that it remains a key platform for our clients, many of whom have been Globe users for over a decade.锟
