The Norwegian Ocean Industry Authority (Havtil) has carried out an audit of Vår Energi and Transocean's planning and execution of the Venus exploration drilling in the Barents Sea. The audit was conducted on 13 and 14 March 2024.

Objective
The objective of the audit was to monitor that Vår Energi and Transocean, together with the main suppliers of drilling and well services, are complying with the regulatory requirements related to planning, experience transfer, risk assessment and execution of the drilling and well activities.

Result
We identified one non-conformity during the audit concerning the well control competence of the subcontractors of well services.

What happens now?
We have asked Vår Energi and Transocean to report to us by 30 August 2024 on how the non-conformity will be addressed.
