Halliburton’s and Nabors Industries’ combined systems to deliver the first fully automated surface and subsurface execution of rotary and slide drilling operations in Oman.

The combined system integrates Halliburton’s Logix automation and remote operations with Nabors’ SmartROS rig operating system to create a unified platform that delivers repeatable, high-performance drilling.

The collaboration has delivered successful outcomes in Oman and Iraq, leading to optimized drilling performance, reduced well construction time, scalable cost reductions and enhanced digital workflows.

On Feb. 18, the companies were named the Digital Enabler of the Year at the 2025 Oil & Gas Middle East Awards in Dubai.

“The success we are seeing in Oman is a testament to the power of collaboration as we work together to drive automation across the industry to improve safety and efficiency,” said Subodh Saxena, senior vice president at Nabors Drilling Solutions.
