Drilling rig and ancillary equipment mobilised to the KN2 well site
Department for Energy and Mining (DEM) has made a site inspection
Water monitoring programme approved by DEM; water bores drilled
Basis of Design (BOD) and drilling programme finalised
Drilling expected to commence following DEM approval
Programme forecast to take nine days to case and suspend the well
Red Sky Energy Ltd (Red Sky or the Company) is pleased to advise that Condor Energy has
mobilised the drilling rig and ancillary equipment to the KN2 well site at the Killanoola Oil Project (PRL-13) in
South Australia’s Penola Trough.
The South Australian Department for Energy and Mining (DEM) conducted a site inspection and had no
issues.
The water monitoring programme submitted earlier this week has been approved, and the associated water
bores have been drilled. This approval represents the final operational step before approval of the drilling
programme.
The Company has now finalised the Basis of Design (BOD) and drilling programme with all parties. The
programme has been submitted to DEM for final approval.
Once regulatory approval is received, drilling of KN2 is expected to commence shortly thereafter.. The
operation is planned to take approximately nine days to drill, case, and suspend the well. A separate
workover rig will then be used to complete KN2 and undertake the DW1 workover.
Managing Director, Andrew Knox, commented:
“With the rig on site and all approvals progressing smoothly, KN2 is approaching the start of drilling. The strong
engagement with DEM and Condor’s readiness position us well to deliver another key operational milestone for
Red Sky.”
Forward Plan
• Receive final DEM approval of the drilling programme
• Commence KN2 drilling (~9 days to completion)
• Mobilise workover rig for KN2 completion and DW1 workover
• Advance offtake and processing discussions with Santos
