Rosneft Develops Technologies for the Development of Hard-to-Recover Reserves

Specialists of the Rosneft Scientific Institute in Ufa have developed data processing technology, which allows you to determine the oil-saturated drilling zones with high accuracy.

Innovation has already successfully tested at the purchase deposit of a key mining asset of RN-Yuganskneftegaz. As a result of improving the planning system for drilling, the oilmen of the enterprise three times increased the design fund of wells, which will additionally obtain more than 100 million tons of oil at the field.

The essence of the technology is the digital processing of arrays of seismic and geological data. At the first stage, using the unique corporate software “PN-Petrologist”, the mineral composition, density and porosity of rocks are determined. Then, on the basis of the information received, scientists build detailed geological models and reconstruct ancient processes of rock formation.

The developed technology allows you to localize zones with high collection* properties with a reliability of 85%.
