MPLX announced on Aug. 25 that Ray Walker has been elected to the board of directors of MPLX GP, the partnership’s general partner, effective immediately.

Walker is a veteran executive in the oil and gas industry. He most recently served as COO of Encino Energy until its recent acquisition by EOG Resources. He previously held leadership roles at Range Resources, including executive vice president and COO, as well as senior vice president of the company’s Marcellus Shale division.

“Ray is a highly respected executive in the oil and gas industry with extensive experience in the Marcellus and Utica basins,” said Michael Hennigan, executive chairman of the MPLX board.

Walker also serves on the board of Solaris Energy Infrastructure.
