The national technical teams at Sirte Oil Company have successfully completed drilling the first horizontal well in the Ellaheeb-Dur Murada field (T27-13). This milestone marks a significant technological advancement in the development of the Waha-Bahi/Gargaf reservoir, demonstrating the company锟絪 progress in managing and developing complex reservoirs.
This operation involved drilling a 350-foot horizontal section within the reservoir using advanced directional drilling techniques. This enabled maximizing contact with the producing layers and achieving optimal reservoir energy utilization, resulting in a stable natural flow of dry light oil with a density of 61 degrees. The well achieved an impressive production rate of 1,870 barrels per day and a wellhead flow pressure of 1,475 psi, figures that surpassed expectations and enhance the potential for increasing the reservoir锟絪 recovery factor.
Mr. Masoud Suleman, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the NOC, praised this achievement as a testament to the capabilities of Libyan professionals in the oil sector. He emphasized that this success showcases their ability to make progress and adapt to developments, reflecting the skills of those in the sector and their potential for professional independence when the necessary resources are available.
