Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources meets a delegation from ExxonMobil Egypt, in which he emphasized the importance of these partnerships in enhancing Egypt’s role as a regional energy hub, highlighting that Egypt’s government aims to leverage its successful global partnerships in exploration and production to drive a steady increase in energy production.
During the meeting, ExxonMobil Egypt’s Chairman Amr Abuaita revealed that ExxonMobil is investing $90 million in seismic surveys over 15 kilometres in the North Marakia concession in the Western Mediterranean. The company plans to expedite drilling operations upon the arrival of its rig in October and expressed confidence in achieving success through its specialised studies and operational plans.
Badawi affirmed his commitment to supporting ExxonMobil’s drilling plans and highlighted the ongoing collaboration with Cyprus in developing the Egyptian-Cypriot government agreement. He also stressed the importance of increasing female participation in the workforce and production roles.
