With just six wells in the Emma-Barnett Field in Ector County, Texas, Continental Resources has surfaced nearly 2 MMbbl beginning in October 2022, with some IP’ing more than 1,000 bbl/d.
Continental Resources has surfaced nearly 2 MMbbl from just six Barnett wells in its new West Texas play to date. First barrels came online beginning in October 2022, according to Texas Railroad Commission (RRC) data.
It has permits for a total of 18 more holes in the Emma-Barnett Field play targeting the oily Barnett pocket in Ector County, Texas, at about 11,500 ft, sitting below the Wolfcamp.
Continental has been creative in finding locations, including under a local airport’s runways. One of the planned pads is outside baggage claim.
