Following directives from the government and Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil, Engineer Hayyan Abdul-Ghani Al-Sawad, the Second Seismic Team, a unit within the Field Operations Department of the Oil Exploration Company, continues its work on the 2D seismic survey within the "Qarnin" program in the desert of Najaf Governorate, on behalf of the Chinese company "Qarnin." The team has achieved significant progress despite challenging field conditions and geographical terrain.
The program spans approximately 2,850 kilometers, with a completion rate of 68%, a clear indication of the considerable effort and high level of discipline demonstrated by the technical and engineering staff working at the project sites.
In this context, the Director General of the Oil Exploration Company, Mr. Osama Raouf Hussein, affirmed that the Second Seismic Team conducted the survey in harsh field environments characterized by high summer temperatures and diverse, rugged desert terrain. This necessitates advanced technical expertise, high field efficiency, and strict adherence to occupational safety procedures, all of which the team has demonstrated its ability to handle efficiently and effectively. The Director General commended the outstanding performance of the team members, praising their efforts and dedication to their duties. He noted that the progress achieved within the "Two Centuries" program in the Najaf desert is a source of pride and reflects the high level of expertise and professionalism possessed by the staff of the Oil Exploration Company. This reinforces the confidence of international partners in the capabilities of national talent to execute major exploration projects.
Mr. Osama Raouf Hussein affirmed that the company's management continues to support the seismic teams and provide all necessary technical and logistical requirements to ensure the continuity of work according to the established plans and contribute to achieving the strategic objectives of the Ministry of Oil.
