Milestone Carbon, a Houston-based subsidiary of Milestone Environmental Services focused on the permanent sequestration of CO2, announced Oct. 19 the lease of 22,000 acres of land and pore space from Texas Pacific Land Corp. in the Permian Basin for the geologic sequestration of CO2.
The land, located in Loving and Midland counties, will be used to support carbon capture and storage projects at natural gas processing and power plants.
The agreement marked Milestone’s second announcement in two months. On Sept. 26, the company announced the acquisition of rights to 10,000 acres in Upton and Midland counties for the same purpose.
“Milestone is thrilled to advance our emerging carbon hubs in the Delaware and Midland basins of West Texas,” said Gabriel Rio, president and CEO of Milestone Environmental Services.
