Following an international tender for the granting of permits for the exploration and production of hydrocarbons in the Republic of Croatia, INA has been awarded exploration permits for two new exploration blocks: SAVA-10/1 and DRAVA-02/02.
The first exploration phase for both areas will last three years, during which geological and geophysical surveys will be conducted to confirm the potential for discovering new oil and gas reservoirs.
SAVA-10/1 block is covering an area of 1,848 km锟� across the Brod-Posavina, Osijek-Baranja, and predominantly Vukovar-Srijem counties.
The DRAVA-02/02 block spans of 1,732 km锟� and includes parts of the Koprivnica-Kri锟絜vci, Bjelovar-Bilogora and Virovitica-Podravina counties.
During the first exploratory phase, INA will carry out 3D seismic surveys and drilling of exploration wells.

These are areas with recognised geological potential, and the implementation of the planned activities will further enhance possibilities for discovering new hydrocarbon reserves. By acquiring these two new permits, INA has built the largest exploration and production acreage position in Croatia, in addition to its existing DRAVA-03 block and the non-operated SAVA-07 block锟� said Josip Bubnic, Operating Director of Exploration and Production at INA.
Following the completion of the first exploration phase in the new areas, the contract allows for the extension of the exploration phase for an additional two years, during which further exploration activities may be carried out. The total planned investments in both exploration blocks amount to several tens of millions of euros and may contribute to further strengthening the energy security of the Republic of Croatia.
