Neo Oiltools, a creator of drilling performance tools for the oil and gas and geothermal industries, has announced that Impulse Downhole Tools, a North American-based technology and service provider, is the company’s authorised North American distributor.
With Neotork, operators and directional drilling companies can achieve significant cost savings and improve operations, especially in increasingly challenging environments. By adjusting the depth of cut, Neotork optimises drilling by allowing higher drilling parameters to improve the rate of penetration (ROP). The tool protects the drill bit and bottom hole assembly (BHA) to reduce failures, trips out of the well, and downtime all while increasing safety. Several operators have exceeded established drilling speeds as a result of adding Neotork to drilling programs.
As an optional device embedded into Neotork, the company’s Neosmart technology monitors downhole vibrations in three dimensions and tracks the axial movements of Neotork throughout a run. Operating at a sampling frequency of 1000 Hz, Neosmart captures detailed dynamic behaviours during drilling that informs drilling the next well.
