中国政府部门已批准中海油南海陵水36-1气田天然气地质储量逾1000亿立方米。
据中海油介绍，这是全球首个在超深水区发现的大型超浅气田，开辟了深水勘探新领域。
该地点位于琼东南盆地中央凹陷南部，平均水深约 1,500 米，地下深度仅为 210 米。
测试期间，该油田流量超过10 MMcm/d。
多年来，莺歌海、琼东南和珠江口盆地相继发现了多个大型天然气田，如东方1-1、荔湾3-1、陵水17-2、宝岛21-1以及现在的陵水36-1。
中海油目前估计该地区已探明天然气总储量超过1万亿立方米。
首席地质学家徐长贵说，对于超浅层天然气，“必须克服世界级的挑战才能勘探和开发储层。”
他补充说，该公司在形成机理方面采用了新的勘探理念和新的技术方法。
China’s governmental authorities have approved gas-in-place at CNOOC’s Lingshui 36-1 gas field in the South China Sea at more than 100 Bcm.
According to CNOOC, this is the first large ultra-shallow gas field discovered in ultradeep water worldwide, and it opens up a new exploration play in deep water.
The location is in the southern part of the Central Sag in the Qiongdongnan Basin in an average water depth of about 1,500 m, and at a subsurface depth of just 210 m.
During testing, the field flowed more than 10 MMcm/d.
Over the years, there have been numerous large gas discoveries in the Yinggehai, Qiongdongnan and Pearl River Mouth basins, such as Dongfang 1-1, Liwan 3-1, Lingshui 17-2, Baodao 21-1 and now, Lingshui 36-1.
CNOOC now estimates total proved gas in-place in the region at more than 1 Tcm.
Chief geologist Xu Changgui said that for ultra-shallow gas “you must overcome world-class challenges to explore and develop the reservoirs.”
The company has adopted new exploration concepts on the formation mechanism, he added, and new technological approaches.
