If all required permits are secured, BKV’s CCS project in the Eagle Ford Shale will begin full operations in first-quarter 2026, the Barnett natural gas producer says.
BKV Corp., the largest natural gas producer in the Barnett, is taking its carbon capture and storage (CCS) expertise to the Eagle Ford.
The Colorado-headquartered company announced on Feb. 13 a partnership with an unnamed “leading diversified midstream energy company” for the project that aims to capture and sequester about 90,000 metric tons of CO2e. A final investment decision for the project was reached in mid-December 2024, BKV said in a news release.
The alliance is taking shape as companies continue efforts to reduce global greenhouse gas emissions. The move strengthens BKV’s carbon capture, utilization and sequestration (CCUS) portfolio.
