• Walyering-7 has commenced its production testing program into the Walyering gas
processing facility.
• Moveable gas and condensate have been recovered to surface from the completed
zones within the well.
• Samples and flowing pressures have been collected to provide further information
into the independent assessment of volumetrics.
Strike Energy Limited (Strike - ASX: STX) provides an update on the Walyering-7 (W7) appraisal
well flow testing program at the currently producing Walyering gas field within Production
Licence L23 (100% net to Strike) in the Perth Basin.
Walyering-7 has been rigged up for testing with a temporary connection into the Walyering gas
processing facility. These operations during the drilling rig demobilisation and testing equipment
set up have all occurred safely and without incident or interruption to the production operations
at the Walyering gas field. The testing program has commenced where, as a priority, zones of
preidentified pay (which are completed behind selective sliding sleeve completions, consistent
with completions in W5 & W6) have been opened separately and flowed to surface.
Moveable gas and condensates have been observed during short flow periods in order to prove
mobility, presence of gas/condensate and assess deliverability into the facility to inform key
inputs to be used in RISC Advisory Pty Ltd’s independent assessments.
During these short tests Strike has sold more than 2
TJ of test gas, demonstrating the early value in testing
these reservoirs through the facility. Strike has also
recovered more than 80 bbls of condensate from one
of the reservoirs when it was opened for during a 90-
minute test. Strike is now conducting laboratory
compositional analysis of these gas samples and
condensates which will also provide critical
information for RISC to complete their work.
Additional zones of potential pay remain to be tested
where equipment to test these in isolation has been
mobilised to site. After these tests are complete, long
term production testing of the well will commence to
inform connected volumes and to provide the final
inputs into RISC’s independent assessment.
The results to date whilst positive are preliminary in
nature and are not indicative of the final outcomes of
the planned long term production test and laboratory
analysis that will need to be complete before the final
results of the W7 well are known and the RISC
independent assessment can be completed.
About the Walyering-7 Appraisal Campaign
The W7 well was drilled from a surface location co-located with the Walyering gas processing
facility (Lat: 30° 42' 45.301" S, Long: 115° 28' 30.408" E) directionally to the east into a fault
compartment north-east of the producing Walyering-5 structure.
