Seadrill said the West Jupiter and West Tellus contracts both have a three-year duration and will add nearly $1 billion to the company’s backlog.
Seadrill Ltd. announced Dec. 17 new contracts with Petrobras for two of its drillships offshore Brazil.
The West Jupiter drillship’s contract will run for three years and contribute approximately $493 million to Seadrill’s order backlog, the company said. The program is expected to start in first-quarter 2026.
The West Tellus drillship was also awarded a three-year contract for the Sépia and Atapu fields in the Santos Basin. The contract will contribute approximately $498 million to its order backlog.
