Calgary, Alberta-based Midas Vantage Projects (MVP) Lithium Ltd. has received a letter of intent from clean energy company Evove Ltd. to commission MVP’s direct lithium extraction (DLE) plant in 2025, according to a Nov. 15 press release.

MVP said the agreement is contingent on industrial-scale brine processing tests at Evove's U.K. facility and on-site demonstrations.

The plant will be located in the Montney Formation in Canada and is considered a “promising new lithium resource,” MVP said.

The plant will utilize DLE technology to produce high-purity lithium, a critical material for the electric vehicle and energy storage industries, the release stated.

“We believe Evove’s DLE technology aligns well with Midas Vantage Projects Lithium Limited’s project requirements in the Montney Formation, based on the data provided following lab testing and subject to processing brine at industrial scale on our equipment and on-site demonstration,” said Evove Chief Commercial Officer Andrew Walker.

Commissioning for the DLE plant is scheduled for 2025, boosting MVP efforts to establish itself in the sustainable lithium extraction market.
