Permian E&P Diamondback Energy Inc. reported reducing its Scope 1 greenhouse-gas (GHG) intensity by 20% compared to their 2019 baseline, the company said in its Sept. 26  Corporate Sustainability Report for 2022.

The company also retired carbon credits to offset 1.5 million tons of CO₂ emitted, which enabled them to achieve zero net Scope 1 emissions and moved them toward their 50% GHG reduction target by 2024.

Diamondback also used recycled water in 41% of their operations, exceeding their annual target by 28%. The company dedicated 8,896 personnel hours to key safety topics, up from 2,565 hours in 2021.
