Bashneft:

Bashneft: Increased the Number of Wells Drilled by 22%

ANK Bashneft (part of Rosneft Oil Company) drilled 254 new production wells in 2021, which is 22% more than in the previous year.

The successful implementation of a set of geological and technical measures, along with other factors, made it possible to significantly exceed the oil production plan in 2021. An increase in development drilling ensures that Bashneft quickly restores oil production as the restrictions imposed under the OPEC+ agreement are eased.

Among the new wells, 92% are horizontal, and 167 wells underwent multi-stage hydraulic fracturing. The increase in the number of such high-tech wells amounted to more than 30%. They make it possible to involve new and poorly drained sections of the reservoir in the development and reduce the time to reach the operating mode.

The main part of production drilling was carried out in the north-west of the Republic of Bashkortostan – Arlanskoye, Chetyrmanskoye and Yugomashevskoye fields.

The technology of drilling infill horizontal wells with multi-stage hydraulic fracturing at Bashneft’s fields in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Yugra has shown high efficiency. The use of this modern technology made it possible to exceed the planned annual start-up increase in oil production from new wells by 59%.

Rosneft is implementing a strategy that involves the use of advanced technologies in the field of planning, drilling and development of wells, including the construction of high-tech horizontal wells and the active use of multi-stage hydraulic fracturing.
