Offshore staff

MILAN, Italy – ExxonMobil Guyana has confirmed an EPCI award to Saipem for the Whiptail oilfield development in 2,000 m water depth offshore Guyana.

Saipem’s scope of work entails the detailed engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) of a subsea production facility. The company had already started detailed engineering and procurement of the long-lead items. The contract value is in the range $750 million to $1.5 billion.

The company will dispatch its FDS2, Castorone and Constellation vessels for the offshore installation. Saipem’s Guyana Offshore Construction site at the Port of Georgetown will assemble some of the subsea components, supported by an additional local fabrication facility.

ExxonMobil previously awarded the company work for the Liza Phase 1 and Phase 2, Payara, Yellowtail and UARU projects in the same Stabroek offshore block.
