  • 由新加坡裕廊船厂私人有限公司建造;
  • 由 Transocean 所有,于 2022 年 9 月与其签署钻井合同;
  • 2019年投入运营;
  • 长度~122.6 m;
  • 长度——94.2;

The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) has granted Norwegian OMV Norge (a subsidiary of the Austrian oil and gas company OMV) permission to drill the 6607/3-1 S exploration well in the Norwegian Sea. This was reported by the press service of the NPD.

The program for well 6607/3-1 S provides for the drilling of an exploration well in accordance with the production license PL 1016, which was issued on March 1, 2019 and is valid until March 1, 2026.
The well will be drilled in the Velocette gas condensate field (GCF), which is located approximately 45 km from Equinor’s large Aasta Hansteen gas field.
The depth of water in the subsoil area is 475 m.

OMV Norge is the operator of the project with a 40% interest, Inpex Idemitsu Norge has a 40% interest, and Longboat Energy Norge holds the remaining 20%.

6607/3-1 S is expected to be drilled in August 2023 with a Transocean Norge floating semi-submersible drilling rig (MSD):

  • built by Jurong Shipyard Pte., Singapore;
  • owned by Transocean, with which the drilling contract was signed in September 2022;
  • put into operation in 2019;
  • length – 122.6 m;
  • length – 94.2;
  • maximum drilling depth – 12.2 thousand m.

Formerly OMV Norge:

  • in December 2022 submitted to the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy a plan for the development and operation (PDO) of the Berling gas field in the Norwegian Sea, formerly known as Iris Hades.
  • in April 2023 discovered new oil deposits near the Gudrun field in the North Sea,
    – it was reported that the discovered reservoir may contain from 0.95 to 5.55 million cm3 of recoverable hydrocarbon reserves in oil equivalent.
