Permian Basin E&P Eon Resources has entered into a $5-million farm-out agreement with a subsidiary of Virtus Energy Partners on Sept. 9.
Under the agreement, Virtus acquired a 65% working interest and will be operator of Eon’s acreage in the San Andres Formation within the Grayburg Jackson Field. Virtus expects to develop as many as 90 horizontal drilling locations on the acreage at a cost between $3.5 million and $4 million per well, according to a Sept. 11 press release.
Eon will retain a 35% non-operated working interest in the San Andres and 100% operated working interest in the remaining productive formations.
