Known in the past as a “heartbreak shale,” Formentera Partners is counting on bigger completions and longer laterals to crack the Pearsall code, Managing Partner Bryan Sheffield said. EOG Resources is also exploring the shale.
Rumor had it more than a decade ago that the Pearsall Shale’s oil and condensate window underlying the Eagle Ford in south-central Texas was a new play.
Today, “the trial’s still out,” Bryan Sheffield, managing partner, Formentera Partners, told Hart Energy.
But he added, “We’re going to drill.”
