During his participation in the third day of the World Economic Forum in Davos 2025, Switzerland, on behalf of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the Prime Minister, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, met with Mr. Claudio Descalzi, CEO of the Italian company "Eni," in the presence of Ambassador Mohamed Nagy, Egypt's Ambassador to Switzerland.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Prime Minister expressed his appreciation for the ongoing cooperation between the Egyptian government and "Eni," stating his eagerness to enhance and deepen the collaborative relationship with the company.
Dr. Mostafa Madbouly also expressed his anticipation of visiting the company’s new exploration sites in Egypt in the near future.
The Prime Minister noted that the government is closely monitoring efforts to increase production from various sites according to the established plans in cooperation with international partners.
For his part, Mr. Claudio Descalzi, CEO of "Eni," confirmed his eagerness to continue collaboration with the Egyptian government, outlining the company's efforts to intensify drilling and exploration activities in Egypt.
Descalzi mentioned, “The drilling rig is expected to arrive at the ‘Zohr’ field on January 28 or 29 to resume drilling operations,” anticipating that within a maximum of two years, Egypt will return to significant levels of gas production and export.
He praised the efforts made by the Egyptian government to develop the petroleum sector and the advanced infrastructure that the sector enjoys.
At the end of the meeting, the CEO of Eni expressed gratitude to Egypt for its commitment to settling the dues of foreign partners.
