- Denison has been appointed preferred tenderer for three new exploration areas by the Queensland Government
- The new exploration areas are adjacent to existing Denison landholdings enabling seamless integration into existing operational activities
- Denison to now obtain relevant approvals to enable exploration permits for the areas to be formally issued
Denison Gas Limited and its affiliates (Denison or the Company) is pleased to announce it has been appointed preferred tenderer for three new exploration areas under the Queensland Government’s most recent petroleum land release.
The new exploration areas are immediately adjacent to Denison’s existing tenements in the Bowen Basin, Queensland. The location of the new areas enables seamless integration into Denison’s existing operational activities.
The Company is now focused on obtaining the relevant regulatory approvals, including from native title parties, to enable the exploration permits for the areas to be formally issued.
Benson Wong, Executive Director of Denison, commented:
“The appointment of Denison Gas as preferred tenderer for three new areas is a strong endorsement of Denison’s role in growing gas supplies for the Australian domestic market. These new areas are next to our current sites and will provide natural growth opportunities for Denison, enabling us to continue to support the security of Australia’s energy supplies. As the Federal Government has recently outlined in its Future Gas Strategy, gas has a vital role to play in Australia’s energy transition. This new award will help Denison to continue to play its part. I would like to thank the Queensland Government for its confidence in Denison Gas.”
