Expand 鈥楬aving Tons of Conversations鈥� to Power Data Centers with Gas

Expand Energy, the largest U.S. gas producer, has some 1 Bcf/d of supply behind pipe that it can turn online when gas markets stabilize, though executives said Oct. 30 it might not be needed for some time.

Like its peers, Expand Energy is in conversations to directly supply some of its nearly 7 Bcfe/d of net natural gas output to data center power generation, executives confirmed in an investor call Oct. 30.

Another northeastern U.S. gas producer, Range Resources, said on Oct. 23 that conversations are materializing around data centers鈥� future power demand.

鈥淭hose conversations have been happening in the background,鈥� Expand CFO Mohit Singh said Oct. 30 in the company鈥檚 first earnings call since Chesapeake Energy and Southwestern Energy merged to form Expand.
