The Government of the Russian Federation extends support for oil and gas companies through the provision of utilization grants. With their help, market participants can compensate for part of the cost of updating drilling rigs. The decision to this effect was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail MISHUSTIN, the Devon news agency learned from a report from the federal cabinet.
The signed document amended the Government Decree of November 16, 2021 No. 1957.
We are talking about companies that are ready to buy a new domestic drilling rig and dispose of the old one. They will be given a grant of up to 20% of the cost of a new installation. If the new drilling complex provides for at least three innovative solutions, then the amount of compensation will be up to 25% of the cost.
The maximum grant for a mobile drilling rig is 100 million rubles, for a stationary one – 200 million. 300 million will be paid for the purchase of a drilling complex with innovative solutions. A total of 800 million rubles has been allocated. for the payment of recycling grants.
Thanks to similar support measures, in 2020-2021, six oil and gas companies received grants in the amount of about 1.2 billion rubles. This allowed them to purchase 12 units. As a result, the workload of Russian enterprises producing drilling equipment increased by almost 20%.
The new tranche of recycling grants will provide an opportunity to support Russian manufacturers of such equipment in the face of sanctions restrictions and competition from foreign manufacturers, the government notes.
In June, Devon news agency reported that the Kurgan Drilling Rigs plant planned to expand the production of drilling rigs for the oil and gas industry. It produces 225-ton mobile drilling and lifting units with a lifting capacity of 80-100 tons for overhaul and development of wells. Installations with a higher carrying capacity are also being developed.
In December, “Inform-Devon” wrote that the Ishimbay plant “Idel Neftemash” planned to occupy 90% of the Russian market of heavy mobile drilling rigs. In the Orenburg region, the Tulgansky plant also planned to increase the production of rigs for drilling ultra-deep wells.
