Here’s a roundup of the latest E&P headlines, including an FLNG design and engineering contract and new seismic offerings.

From contract wins to new technology offerings, below is a compilation of the latest headlines in the E&P space.

Delfin Picks Wison for Deepwater FLNG Projects

Delfin Midstream Inc. announced on Aug. 23 it is accelerating development of its remaining Floating LNG (FLNG) projects in response to European demand and the strong market outlook for cleaner burning fuels in Asia.

Delfin signed a design and engineering contract with Wison Offshore & Marine to develop the FLNG vessels for the deepwater port projects currently under construction in North America.

“Wison’s goal is to continue into a full FEED later this year such that FLNG vessel construction can start at their shipyard in mid-2024,” Delfin COO Wouter Pastoor said in a press release.

The Delfin LNG Deepwater Port project can support four FLNG vessels with a combined export capacity of up to 13.3 million tons per annum (mtpa). Delfin has secured commercial agreements for LNG sales and liquefaction services and is in the final phase towards final investment decision on its first two FLNG vessels.

TechnipFMC Tapped for Girassol Project

TechnipFMC won a contract to install flexible pipe and associated subsea structures for TotalEnergies EP Angola’s Girassol Life Extension project (GIR LIFEX), the company said Aug. 23.

Last year, TechnipFMC was awarded the engineering, procurement and supply of subsea flowlines and connectors for GIR LIFEX. The company also built the subsea tree systems for the original Girassol development.

Seatrium Delivers AlSila Jackup

Seatrium Group member Seatrium New Energy said Aug. 22 it has delivered the AlSila jackup to ADNOC Drilling Co. PJSC.

STRYDE Launches In-Field Data Processing

STRYDE Ltd. launched a new integrated in-field data processing service, STRYDE Lens, the company announced on Aug. 23.

The solution expedites access to interpretation-ready onshore subsurface images, the company said. Raw seismic data can take months or years to process. With STRYDE Lens, processing sequences can begin as soon as sufficient data is acquired, eliminating the need to wait until the survey concludes, the company said.

“By enabling remote initiation of data processing on the same system where it's been acquired, companies can access an image of the subsurface very shortly after the end of the seismic survey, while keeping the data within the country—which is mandatory if data export is not permitted,” Amine Ourabah, STYRDE’s chief geophysicist, said in a press release. “This also facilitates best-in-class seismic processing geophysicists to collaborate on the data from any location globally, all while adhering to data export regulations.”

STRYDE Lens was used to process 200 km of 2D seismic data lines in the Middle East after STRYDE's Nimble system acquired the data. The project was managed within the country with the STRYDE Nimble system accessed remotely from London. A high-priority batch of seismic data was delivered a month after acquisition was completed.

DeepOcean Snags Troll B Work

DeepOcean said Aug. 23 it had won a contract from Equinor to support the increased gas export project at Troll B in the northern area of the North Sea.

The project involves replacing the current 15-inch gas export riser with a new 13-inch gas export riser at the Troll B platform. DeepOcean’s contract scope includes engineering, transportation and installation of the gas export riser, subsea tie-ins and pre-commissioning support.

Project management and engineering for the riser replacement will begin immediately at DeepOcean’s office in Stavanger with further support from the company’s Haugesund office in Norway. Offshore operations are planned in 2024 using the Edda Freya installation vessel, which is on charter to DeepOcean.
